I’m 6′0″, 274 lbs. (as of May 1) and I’ve decided to get into shape once and for all. I’ve done this many times before (been as low as 205 as recently as 3 years ago) but this time I’m going to keep it off. I’m not getting any younger and it gets tougher to stay in shape the older you get. Over the years I’ve never taken any suppliments for weight loss. Aside from a multi vitamin every morning all I did was change my diet and exercise. Now that I’m 31, the weight isn’t coming off as quickly as it used to…big surprise there. So I’ve been to multiple places like GNC, and other nutrition and vitamin shops and they all tell me basically the same thing: “Creatine and Whey Protein are what you need dude!!! You’ll be ripped!!!” The problem with that is when I lost weight in the past, I was already ripped. Strip away all the fat and anybody looks “ripped.” I’ve read on websites about the pros and cons and so forth but when I call these guys up to get a little more detail, they just repeat themselves My goal is to lose 70 lbs. by the end of the year and get back to my “fighting weight” of 205. Will creatine and whey protein HONESTLY help me accomplish this faster? I’m asking here on yahoo answers because these guys at GNC etc. aren’t exactly objective when giving advice for this stuff and for that reason, I’m a little skeptical of their answers. Am I wrong here? Can somebody set the record straight?

I just recently started using Musashi Pro Food protein powder, I use 2 scoops(40G) of powder with 300ml of milk, in 1 shake, and i have 1 a day, maybe 2 on the occasion
here is the nutrition chart on the back:
This is all per serve(40G)
Engery – 652 kj
156 cals
protein – 18.2g
Fat – total – 0.84G
– saturated – 0.48g
carbohydrate – total – 18.3g
- sugar – 9.28g
sodium – 92mg
I do weights every 2 days(except saturday, is my day off) & cardio on every other day, does having a protein shake affect weight loss?

I need to find a good protein shake/ meal replacement but when I go to the nutrition store I’m overwhelmed with the options and don’t trust advertisements. I’m just looking for something that doesn’t taste like dirt and is effective. I’m 28 yrs old, 210 lbs, and 6ft tall. Please help!
