do i have an eating disorder?

i am 18, female, 100 pounds, 5 feet.

i have a smaller appetite than before, i eat less and i am less interested in foods.

i do want to be smaller, but i do not think i am fat. my family thinks i am very small because i did lose 20 pounds since nov. 08.

i do not see the weight loss in me really

i do throw up my foods on purpose sometimes, not very often. i read labels on the nutrition information, i have a problem, i just do not like food, it is bothering me, and i want to be a little smaller. and i throw up now and then. i skip meals.

is this a eating disorder, and if so, what is it called?

Is this healthy eating for an active teenager?

I’m 5′6 1/2″, 155 Lbs, 16 years old 32″ waist. My goal is 125 Lbs for boxing which I have been training in for almost a year. I still can’t see my abs and have quite a bit of fat still on me. When I first started I weighed 175 Lbs :| So here is my daily eating and activities.

7:00 AM: Bowl of cereal with soy milk, 1 apple, 2 glasses of water, 1 cup of green tea.
10:00 AM: 1 Banana, 1 Nutrition Bar.
12:45 PM: 1 Mortadella sandwich on whole wheat bun, 1 peanut butter sandwich on 2 slices whole wheat bread, 1 apple, 1 Nutrition Bar, 1 bottled water.
3:30 PM: Chicken Breast, 1 cup Brown Rice, Garden Salad, 1 apple, 2 glasses of water.
5:30 PM: 1 and a half hour of boxing cardio class.
8:00 PM: 2 scoops Whey Iso Burst Protein Shake mixed with water.

I train in boxing 3-5 days a week and usually pig out on weekends. I don’t lift weights and was thinking of starting to build some more muscle. Please help me out this weight loss is driving me crazy. Thank you.

I currently need to consume 1400 calories in order to lose 2 lbs per week. I know that I should eat fruits and vegetables and high fiber, low sodium foods, but what if I just eat 1400 calories of McDonald’s per day?

I do understand that I can risk having liver failure, heart disease, and diabetes, but in terms of pure weight loss, can I still lose weight by eating 1400 calories of fast foods per day?

If it does come down to simply calories then I think I would. I know there is a lot of fat in McDonald’s and not enough nutrition, but don’t the dietitians and nutritionists even say that it is about your overall number of calories?

Is there something else I should know about weight loss and eating fast foods?
I know eating a salad is better than a BigMac or a cheeseburger, but if I keep under my 1400 calorie limit then it shouldn’t matter what I eat as long as I stay under my 1400 calorie limit, right?

In other words, I could eat as many BigMacs I want as long as long as it’s under my calorie limit and I should still lose weight.

Again, I do understand that there are other risks involved (diabetes, liver failure, heart disease), but in terms of pure weight loss, I only have to watch the calories, yes?

I weigh 224 pounds and have been consuming 1,200-1,500 calories a day for 3 weeks so far to start losing weight: have lost 6 pounds so far (I also walk for 30-45 minutes a day) I’ve been reading that it’s not healthy to go below 1,000 or even 1,200 calories a day, but nobody says why. I figure that I have the extra fat to burn if my body needs it if I don’t quite get 1200 calories a day, say 1,100 somedays. Is this safe to assume? I realize that by not getting my calories I may not be getting my nutrition, but this isn’t an every day occurence, and I wanted to make sure I don’t jeopardize my weight loss or health by not getting that 100 extra calories on some days. Thanks for your help.

I am working on losing my first 10 pounds of a total 50 pounds I want to lose. I am a busy, newly single mother of three young children who works full time. I have been dieting for about 3 weeks and have lost about 7 pounds so far. I read that not eating enough calories could hurt your weight loss goals. So far my caloric intake has been low and I have been losing the weight. I am concerned that I am not eating enough. I am not going hungry. I have a bowl of Cheerios with fat free milk for breakfast, an apple for a snack, a Lean Cuisine (about 150-300 calories) for lunch, a handful of almonds for snack or carrots, and a light dinner, and a fruit pop for an evening snack. Will this hurt my weight loss or am I doing it right? (5′7 and 187 starting weight now at 180).
Forgot to add that I am drinking only water and I am on the treadmill every other day for 1 hour at 3.5 and an incline of 8.

Is it true that for optimal Fat loss and avoidance of Fat gain, the simultaneous intake of Fats and Carbs must be avoided by following the below nutrition plan:
1/ carbs + protein
2/ fats + protein
but not carbs + fats (thus no pasta & olive oil, peanut butter & bread, rice and fried eggs, tuna mayo sandwich & fruit juice, etc.)
Or will the intake of fats with carbs lower the insulin response, slow down the absorption process and limit adipose tissue [fat] storage.

Which theory is accurate? Really curious to know…

thanks :)
thanks Yamster – I guess that’s why chocolate bars or potato chips are so fattening (High sugar and fat content)
So adding olive oil to pasta will not slow down the absorption process and limit the insulin being secreted? (sigh)
What about adding vegetables like high fiber vegetables, would that slow down the absorption of pasta or white rice?

thanks again :)
