I weigh 224 pounds and have been consuming 1,200-1,500 calories a day for 3 weeks so far to start losing weight: have lost 6 pounds so far (I also walk for 30-45 minutes a day) I’ve been reading that it’s not healthy to go below 1,000 or even 1,200 calories a day, but nobody says why. I figure that I have the extra fat to burn if my body needs it if I don’t quite get 1200 calories a day, say 1,100 somedays. Is this safe to assume? I realize that by not getting my calories I may not be getting my nutrition, but this isn’t an every day occurence, and I wanted to make sure I don’t jeopardize my weight loss or health by not getting that 100 extra calories on some days. Thanks for your help.

Can using protein powder affect weight loss?

I just recently started using Musashi Pro Food protein powder, I use 2 scoops(40G) of powder with 300ml of milk, in 1 shake, and i have 1 a day, maybe 2 on the occasion
here is the nutrition chart on the back:
This is all per serve(40G)
Engery – 652 kj
156 cals
protein – 18.2g

Fat – total – 0.84G
– saturated – 0.48g

carbohydrate – total – 18.3g
- sugar – 9.28g

sodium – 92mg

I do weights every 2 days(except saturday, is my day off) & cardio on every other day, does having a protein shake affect weight loss?
