This is not doom and gloom. I really mean it. The world, including all living things, seems to be facing a potential danger to extinction. The time bomb is ticking…
And it looks to me that most people are not aware of how serious the problem of nutrient depletion in the soil has become. For that, we have to thank to the high technology that man is addicted with.
The farmers use synthetic fertilizers hoping to produce seemingly high-yield, high-nutrition crops. They use powerful machinery to plot and harvest (or rather, rape the Earth) from the land relentlessly. They ignore the consequence of drying up the soil nutrient which affects the vitamin and mineral content in the food source.
The rich high-tech nations do not monopolize such phenomena. Third-world countries in Asia are now able to harvest rice thrice in a year.
But Mother Nature usually allows one harvest a year… two at most!
Why are man messing up the law of Mother Nature?
By harming the Earth, man are digging their eternal grave!
Certain politicians, scientists, or even top United Nations officials may disagree. They believe that solving the world’s poverty is the first priority, and high-tech farming is the solution.
But what about the serious loss in soil nutrient?
The 1992 Earth Summit Report warned the serious mineral loss in farm and range for the past 100 years. No one is taking this seriously!
North America 85% loss…
South America 76%
Europe 72%
Asia 76%
Africa 74%
Australia 55%.
North America is facing the worst!
Hey, to you people in America… you just have to tell your politicians to tackle this problem seriously, instead of debating the bill about health care… The reason is that taking care of the food source could virtually eliminate the health problem of modern days.
Hmm… the funny thing is that, American had already been warned by the U.S. Senate of the problematic high-tech farming methods in 1936. They even got proof from researchers at Yale, Rutgers, John Hopkins, Columbia and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Seems like everybody is showing too much concern about Green Earth movement. What about the Fertile Earth movement or alike? What an irony!
Confused?
The general purpose of Green Earth movement is to stop hurting the Earth.
Fertile Earth movement could help the Earth to regenerate it previous fertility since Creation. Of course, stop hurting the Earth before healing her. Prevention and healing should come hand in hand.
Now, why most people are still ignoring it?
Perhaps there is no solution at all!
If I were the Mother Earth, I would say this to mankind…
“Pathetic man! You can’t just rape me, then bribe me with your money, and tell me to be a fertile gaia immediately.”
What will a scientist say if you ask how long the Earth would become like fertile Eden?
At least thousands of years. Mankind will be long gone before they discover the solution!
By the way, forget about the commercialized “organic food”, “diversified farming” movement. No one can fool the Earth when harm had already been done decades ago.
And if man are really desperate for solution to this global problem, I think… maybe there is a silly solution.
“What” you may ask…
Everyone on the Earth should declare a compulsory GLOBAL REST DAY for at least once a month.
Stop burning fuels… stop generating carbon… stop throwing waste… stop eating… just stop doing everything that could directly or indirectly harm the Earth!
Perhaps we should stop exhaling CO2!
Maybe, just maybe, man should sacrifice their existence for the sake of their Mother Earth. Yes, that maybe the solution…
The existence on Earth is a gift to man. But man want more than they can take. Therefore, man do not deserve Earth.
God knows! Time will tell.
For the time being, enjoy the benefits from whatever fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, and etc you want. But do not believe in the food you eat. It is better to supplement extra doses of vitamins and minerals… just in case.
