diet and calorie intake to lose 8 kgs in 8 weeks?

Hi , I have a profesional MMA fight on the 25th July.

My current weight is 94kgs , I have to weigh in at 83.9kgs the day before.

Im 6ft and my body fat is around 20% (not the leanest of people)

I Ideally want to get down to 86kgs and cut the 2.1 kgs with water/sweat loss in the sauna etc so that when I fight ill be at around 86kgs.

I train alot so that is sorted but I could do with some tips on the nutrition side of things.

Any tips or links to good sites would be greatly appreciated.

I posted a question yesterday relating to how I lost 17pounds in the past 2 months.

I am very familiar with nutrition and could write out the perfect meal plan as well (as some of the responses did).

I have tried everything to lose weight including running an hour/day, weights, reducing calories to 1300/day for a period of time, I even spent a week in 100degree weather in florida running and walking anywhere from 8 to 20 miles/day and eating around 2000 calories/day (much less than I was burning).

None of this worked! Maybe, I would lose 2 or 3 lbs in a month but that is not the result one would expect from the kind of dedication, I was giving this.

I lost 17lbs in the past 2 months by eating an average of 800 calories/day. Some days, I would eat as low as 600, and occasionally I would even eat close to 1500. After eating 600 calories/day for a couple of days, I would drop 2-3 pounds and then eat 1200 calories for a day and maintain the 2-3 weight loss.

Everyone was very adamant in their responses that I need 2000 calories per day to maintain and 1300 to lose. (or some variation close to that). but that never has worked for me, I gain when I eat 2000 calories/day, and I don’t budge when I eat 1300 calories/day.

Isnt’ it possible that some people, like me, only burn 1300 calories/day (not including workouts) and so that in order to lose, I have to reduce below that?? Why does nobody challenge what the US guildelines set out for us, bodies are complicated and can’t be reduced to figures that pertain to everyone.

(I am 5′5” and I currently weight 128lbs) (I do not think I am fat, and am very happy with where I am right now and do not care to lose more)

(On days when I would eat 600 calories, my diet consisted of tons of water and I mean tons, fruit, whole wheat pasta, eggs, oatmeal and veggies ~ variations of these types of foods in portions to equal 600/day)

In the 21st century, cell phones have become a man’s best friend. I know I need my cell every hour of the day. I was watching the news the other day when they started talking about dietcom’s new mobile nutrition service. Suppose you are ordering at a restaurant, deciding between two options. You can make the healthier choice by knowing the nutritional information of the two options. you text the name of the restaurant and item to diet1 or 34381 and you will be texted back immediatey with all the nutritional information such as calories & fat. The service is free of charge except for the text messaging charge from the specific carrier. Now, here’s one example of a cell phone service that’s already invented by diet.com to help people with weight loss and eating right. I’m sure in the future there will be many more. What do you think? Can cell phones help us maintain a nutritious and healthy lifestyle.

do i have an eating disorder?

i am 18, female, 100 pounds, 5 feet.

i have a smaller appetite than before, i eat less and i am less interested in foods.

i do want to be smaller, but i do not think i am fat. my family thinks i am very small because i did lose 20 pounds since nov. 08.

i do not see the weight loss in me really

i do throw up my foods on purpose sometimes, not very often. i read labels on the nutrition information, i have a problem, i just do not like food, it is bothering me, and i want to be a little smaller. and i throw up now and then. i skip meals.

is this a eating disorder, and if so, what is it called?

Hit plateau…Please help!?

I have posted here before and still still having a hard time with losing the last 10 lb.s and finding the right answer. I am 36 yo. always been active, I workout 4-5x a week, I am currently 130lbs. Had a baby almost 3 years ago, but I lost almost all the baby weight by now except the last 10lbs. And for the past 2 YEARS I can’t seem to lose those last 10 pounds. I have read up on nutrition and I am guessing I hit a plateau or starvation mode. I eat my 3 small meals a day, 3 snacks, workout, etc. And for the past 2 years the scale is stuck on 130lbs. I have talked to trainers, nutritionist about it, they tell me I am not eating enough. How much MORE do I have to eat??? For crying out loud, that was my reason why I was gaining weight before, is because I ate MORE. I am confused about calorie counting, how much should I eat, how much should I burn with exercise, it’s all very confusing. I also downloaded meal plans and unless I have nothing better to do than to cook all day long in the kitchen, I have no patience to follow most of these meal plans they suggest with weight loss. I feel like I am losing my mind constantly looking at labels on the food. I am a working mom and I don’t have the patience to always count calories or follow a meal plan, when I am at work and it’s hard to figure out what to eat each and every day. I try to variate my workout routine as well every 4 weeks, but NOTHING is working. Then I have people tell me that this is the weight I will have for the rest of my life and nothing will make me lose it. That’s a lousy answer and I won’t accept that. Then some tell me it’s my “ideal” weight and why I wanna lose more. I look in the mirror and I see a BULGE in my tummy. If someone tells me that’s “normal” than they are blind. I do crunches for ab 3x a week, but I will have to lose the weight first, because no way I can turn fat into muscle. I really don’t know what to do anymore!??? I have friends who swear by losing weight by skipping meals and I have seen their results. I am beginning to think that’s what I am gonna do, because this 3x meal + 3x snack a day is not doing anything for me in the past 2 YEARS!!!

I’ve been on a diet for a few weeks, and haven’t cheated once. I’ve lost 17 of 40 lbs I need to drop eventually, and I’m pretty happy with my progress!

Today was a bad day. A really bad day. The kind of bad day that should be burned from the calendar, LOL! I chose to have a McDonald’s double cheeseburger for dinner (skipped the fries and soda, though I really wanted to club my kids aside and take theirs).

I don’t feel bad in the least bit! I earned one treat, and it was darned good. But now I have this feeling that I need to work it off somehow. Not being obsessive, just trying to stay on track, and I want this burger to earn its keep.

How much damage does one nasty cheeseburger do when losing weight? I have no fear that it’s the end of the world, just wondering if it actually made any difference in the weight loss for this week or anything. Just how much further do I have to walk on my treadmill tonight to justify my naughty little indulgence?

This one burger had about a current day’s worth of fat content, but darned if it wasn’t worth it, LOL!
Oh, and it wasn’t a bad day because I had a burger. I had a burger because it was a bad day, LOL

I have a beloved kitten; who is over weight. she has a fat pouch on her belly. I have reduced her food from 2/3 of a cup to 1/3 of a cup she has been on this for about a mouth now, but with very little results; she never feels full and whines for more food. She is very active, she plays with my outher 2 cats and 3 dogs all the time; and runs where ever she goes, when she is not playing. I am at a total loss of what to do I DO NOT like those diet foods I feel they lack the nutrition a growing kitty needs, and also I hate those diet medicines, I don’t like the thought of giving a baby chemicals,( unless there is no outher way like when there sick). If any one has a suggestion please let me know?
